Back up to Crumlin 2day for Endocine App, yer auntie Ro Ro & Maggie came with us for d drive, for you as well as the opportunity to go to Liffey Valley on the way home ;-) Endocrine dept deal with issues relating to your parathyroid glands. You are currently on calcuim and vit d supplements because your parathyroid glands lack sufficent amounts of them.
Parathyroid Gland
Four small masses of epithelial tissue are embedded in the connective tissue capsule on the posterior surface of the thyroid glands. These are parathyroid glands, and they secrete parathyroid hormone or parathormone. Parathyroid hormone is the most important regulator of blood calcium levels. The hormone is secreted in response to low blood calcium levels, and its effect is to increase those levels.
Hypoparathyroidism, or insufficient secretion of parathyroid hormone, leads to increased nerve excitability. The low blood calcium levels trigger spontaneous and continuous nerve impulses, which then stimulate muscle contraction.
Hmmmmm now if ya understand all that u'd be doin well, (obviously copied n' pasted) ;-)
Anywho, great news Dr Costigan & his tall handsome reg. (shhhh don't tell yer dad) decided that yer calcuim levels have regulated and no need for any more vit d or calcuim supplements, yippie !!! I've to have yer bloods done regulary but not every 2wk's like b4 which was excellent news, was so delighted for ya chick u deserved a break from blood tests xox Dr Costigan said thats it's a rare occurance that levels regulate themselves so quickly, they've only seen one other case like this b4.
All them candles n prayers are kicking in, would want to you've prayers all over the world being said for you (ireland, rome, lourdes, america) Ro Ro knows lots of ppl xox
